LENTEN BIBLE STUDY IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN US! Pope Francis tells us that Lent is a new beginning, a path leading to the certain goal of Easter, Christ’s victory over death. This season urgently calls us to conversion. Christians are asked to return to God “with all their hearts” (Joel 2:12), to refuse to settle for mediocrity and to grow in friendship with the Lord. Jesus is the faithful friend who never abandons us. Even when we sin, he patiently awaits our return; by that patient expectation, he shows us his readiness to forgive (cf. Homily, 8 January 2016). Lent is a season for deepening our spiritual life through the means of sanctification offered us by the Church: fasting, prayer and almsgiving. During this season of Lent we will open the “Word of God” by looking deeper into the readings for each Sunday in Lent as they exhort us to sincere conversion. Bible Study Sessions: Tuesdays at 11 a.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and a Men’s Group on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. If you would like to be a part of Bible Study or start a group of your own, we ask that you please call Paul Loman or Cindy Hoosock in the School of Religion Office (315-454-3639) so that we have the materials for each participant. Thank you.
