Spiritual Growth for Advent What better way to prepare for the Birth of the Messiah during the Advent Season than to become more familiar with the Infancy Narratives in the gospels of Luke and Matthew? You can do this by participating in an online non-credit adult education mini-course offered by Boston College. There are no classes, no tuition costs, no exams, and all materials are included online. The mini-course guides the participants through the two chapters of Luke’s Gospel and Matthew’s Gospel that deal with the birth of Jesus, at his or her own pace. To begin go to this link: http://tinyurl.com/cscd9nv This spiritual growth experience is brought to you by the Formation for Ministry Office. To find out more about serving Christ as a lay minister in the Diocese of Syracuse contact formation@syrdio.org

Rosary for Life Every Saturday from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Planned Parenthood in Syracuse. For more information, contact Joe Terranova at 472-2953.

From the Safe Environment Office You can help create a safer environment for children by inspiring others to participate in your parish, agency or school abuse prevention efforts. This could be as simple as identifying one person who hasn’t participated in your parish’s VIRTUS training and awareness sessions and offering them information about how they can register for the awareness sessions. Please help them register at: www.syrdio.org. You can help make a difference in the life of a child and make an impact on your community’s child abuse prevention efforts! For more information contact St. Daniel Site Coordinator, Paul Loman at 454-3639 or ploman@syrdiocese.org

Prayer Group at Christ the King Retreat Center, on the first and third Mondays of each month from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Leadership in prayer is shared by individuals in the group. 446-2680.

Any woman who is, or believes she is, faced with a crisis pregnancy, can come to Birthright and receive all the practical help she needs to guide her through her particular situation. Trained volunteers make up the entire staff. Birthright is pro-life, non-judgmental, and interdenominational. All services are free and confidential. Birthright provides pregnancy tests, counseling, referrals to medical, financial, adoption or educational agencies, and a free layette to mothers delivering their babies. We ask for your support. If you know of any woman in need of our services, please tell her about us. Our office is at 346 N. Midler Ave. #46, Syracuse NY 13206 and our phone number is 479-5807.
